Data Protection Policy
The policy listed below sets out the GDPR policy - including how personal data may be collected, used and protected by the academy.

Information we collect and why
CDCA Academy collects and uses personal data of registered members at the academy. This data may be held for business purposes, administration, promotion, information for parents and members, performance licensing, registrations and so on.
Most of our members personal information and data is collected through digital and hard copy registration forms.
This personal information includes but is not limited to:
- Members full name, address, date of birth, parent/guardian full name, contact number for both the member (if applicable) and parent/guardian, email address.
- Medical information - consisting of any health conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, special needs, registered GP practice, emergency contact numbers and so on.
Photography and Video Footage
The academy regularly uses photography and video footage of members for promotional and marketing purposes. Media may be publicly displayed on our website, social media platforms, posters/flyers, walls within the academy etc.
We also use photography and video footage at events, competitions and shows. Upon completing a registration form, parents/guardians’ consent to the use of photography and video footage for the above purposes. If you have any questions or concerns regarding media being published, we advise that you contact the academy at cdca-academy@hotmail.com.
Protecting Personal Data and Information
We have set regulations in place to protect any personal data and information of our members. Any information or data that you provide us with will not be shared with those unauthorised and will be kept as secure as possible. It is important to note that when information is shared to the academy online, we cannot guarantee that your data is 100% secure. Although, we take all approaches to prevent any unauthorised access or misuse of personal data and information. The legal parent/guardian will always be notified of any breach in their personal data/information as soon as possible.
Sharing Personal Data and Information
Any personal data and information that you provide the academy with will always be treated with confidentiality and shall never be shared with those unauthorised. Local councils may require your young person’s information - for example when performing at festivals/shows/competitions, the council may request your child’s name, date of birth, school name, address etc, to process a performance license. We may also share your data with third parties, such as additional dance companies, venues that they may perform at, and so on.
How long do we keep your information?
CDCA Academy reserves the right to retain your personal information and data for the duration of your membership at the academy, and for long as afterwards as it is deemed necessary. We may utilise any photographs or video footage for promotional and marketing purposes, even if your child is no longer a member at the academy.
If you are no longer a member at CDCA Academy, you may request for your photograph/video footage to be removed and not published again by contacting us via email.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you reserve the right to:
- Access your personal information and data
- Be provided with information as to how we process or use your personal information
- Rectify your personal data or information if it is inaccurate
- Have your personal data erased under certain circumstances
- To restrict the processing of your information
